G3 Chapter 3 Caydence Mends a Broken Heart

Back at the fraternity house at Sim State University, the ghost of Arianna says goodby. Occasionally, Arianna helped out Caydence and her housemates. The students were so messy, especially after a party. They wren't the cleanest group. And they appreciated Arianna's help. Even in death, the ever determined Arianna was compelled to complete her last task. The kids never saw her ghost, but who else could it have been who cleaned the house from top to bottom? When Caydence returned to school, her big sister Bria went with her. Bria was just the support Caydence needed in case she ran into Evan. Her best friend, Emily was there to greet her and the three girls chatted amicably. Both Emily and Bria agreed that the best way to mend a broken heart was to jump back into the dating game and find a new friend. Caydence was reluctant. "But I really don't want to date anybody. I'm perfectly fine on my own. I was fine before I met Evan and I'll do fine on my own now. Why do I have to start dating again?" Caydence just wanted to return to her studies. She had a lot of catching up to do. "Look, you can't sit around and mope. You need to occupy yourself. Trust me, Evan definitely won't be sitting around moping about you. So get back out there. The sooner the better." Emily was determined to see her friend smile again. "Look, we can have a little party. Just us girls. We'll do makeovers. I have the cutest hair style for you." Emily started fooling around in Caydences hair and Caydence playfully slapped at her hands. "Ok, ok, I'll get back out there. Just leave my hair alone." Then it was Bria's turn. "Oh no. A makeover is exactly what you need." The two girls dragged Caydence into the house and started working on her hair. When they were done, Caydence loved her new look. She felt a new confidence. "Perhaps jumping back into the dating game might not be so bad afterall." she said as Bria and Emily smiled and gave each other knowing glances. Caydence's friends and sister wage an all out campaign to find a new friend for Caydence. Rebeka was particularly thrilled with the idea and called her friend Oscar. Oscar was pleasant and Caydence enjoyed his company until she found out that Oscar was involved in illegal activities and that he had spent most of his youth in a juvenile detention facility. Oscar willingly told Caydence about his past and Caydence let him down nicely. "Oscar, you're a nice guy, but I don't think you and I would be a good match. I think we come from two different places and...and honestly, I'm just not comfortable with that." Caydence couldn't believe that her good friend Rebeka had set her up with the campus drug dealer. How could she? She must know what he's into. He's Rebeka's close friend. But Caydence pushed the whole episode to the back of her mind and decided to ask more questions before agreeing to meet a guy. ____________________________________________ The girls in the house, Rebeka, Emily, Kelly and Jane, decided to have a party. It was the easiest way to introduce Caydence to new guys. The party was a blast and Caydence was having a really great time. Her friends had thought of everything. They even paid a fortuneteller to come and read Caydence's aura and reveal her future. Emily introduced Caydence to Lady Gypsophilia the fortuneteller. "Caydence, meet Lady Gypsophilia. She's very good, she'll tell you everything you need to know about your future. I'll leave you two alone to talk." Caydence was a little reluctant, but she figured what harm was there to letting this rather strange woman predict her future? It was all just fun and games right? "Ok, Lady G, can I call you that? I want to know about my love life. Am I going to fall madly in love with Mr. Perfectly Rich and Handsome?" Caydence wasn't taking this very seriously. Lady Gypsophilia took out a floating orb and stared into it. She glared into the sphere so long that Caydence started to become uncomfortable. Then finally she began to speak. "You will be deceived." Caydence knew this woman had no clue what she was talking about. She had already been deceived by Evan who really hadn't wanted her. "Ok, then when and by whom?" Caydence asked. "You will be deceived by someone who is close to you. Someone who you trust. It has already happened. It is happening now." Now the woman was giving Caydence the creeps, but she was slowly being drawn in. Could any of this really be true, she wondered? "And what about meeting Mr. Perfect will..." the old woman cut her off. "Yes, yes. I see. Very soon. He is not perfect as you say, but he will be good for you. You must be open to love or you will miss him." Suddenly the old woman began to shake. Her eyes rolled back into her head and she spoke in a frighteningly unreal voice. "Out of great pain will come happiness. That which you seek will be found, but pain before pleasure." The fortuneteller returned to her normal self, but Caydence was spooked half to death. This strange woman just might be real. Maybe all that she predicted will come true. It was a good reading, but Caydence was a little freaked out. She thanked Lady Gypsophilia and walked back to the house trying to decipher the fortuneteller's cryptic message. Still deep in thought, Caydence sees Rebeka and Evan talking in front of the house. They looked rather chummy, and neither of them noticed Caydence there. Caydence watched as Evan put his hand in the small of Rebeka's back and pulled her close. Caydence's ex boyfriend and her close friend and housemate kissed passionately. It obviously wasn't the first time. Caydence couldn't believe what she was seeing. How could Rebeka deceive her like that? She was her friend and she knew how badly Evan had hurt her. How could she be with him? How could he be with her? Evan knew that Rebeka and Caydence were friends and housemates. How could he be with her after hurting Caydence so badly? Crying and in shock, Caydence started to run towards the house where she crashed into something big and fuzzy. It was the school's llama mascot. "Whoa, slow down there. You alright?" he asked while grabbing onto Caydence's arms to keep her from falling. "Hey, you're crying. What's wrong? Wanna talk about it?" Caydence looked up and tried to wipe her eyes and stop the tears from falling. "No, I'm ok." The mascot wasn't blind and he knew something was wrong. "Well, you don't look ok. Usually when a pretty woman is crying that means somebody has hurt her. And it helps to talk about it." The mascot grabbed the long ears of his costume. "I'm a good listener. Look, I'm all ears." Caydence chuckled at his joke. "I'm Elliot, by the way." He held out his hand and they shook. "Hi, I'm Caydence." "Oh, so YOU'RE the lady of the hour. I wondered when I'd get to meet you. Emily said you were very attractive and nice...and she wasn't wrong." Caydence blushed. "Thanks, that's nice of you to say that." "No, it's true. And I don't like seeing attractive nice women cry. What's up? Who should I beat up?" he joked. "Actually, I wish I could beat somebody up. Or rather somebodies. I just saw one of my best friends making out with my ex-boyfriend." "Ooh, ouch. That hurts." Elliot said. "Yeah, well...I just can't believe that they would go behind my back like that. How long has it been going on? I mean was he with her the entire time he was with me?" Caydence looked like she was going to cry again so Elliot put his arm lightly around her shoulder and led her inside the house. "Listen, here's what you're going to do. Neither of them deserve your tears or your time. They were wrong. That's obvious. Ignore them. Right now, they probably think you don't have a clue about them. Don't let on that you know yet. Play it cool. That way you can find out what you want to know." Caydence realized Elliot was right. For the next hour Caydence and Elliot hung out together at the party. He was so nice and he had a great sense of humor. She was enjoying herself despite finding out about Rebeka and Evan. But it was still in the back of her mind. Finally, Caydence had to do something. She excused herself and went to look for Rebeka. Still, Caydence was determined to take Elliot's advice and play it cool. Pretend not to know anything. When Caydence got Rebeka alone they chatted like usual. "So Rebeka, you look really happy. You must have met someone." Rebeka blushed a little. "Yeah, I did." Caydence thought Rebeka might just make this easy for her. She put of a fake excited smile "Ooh tell me all about him. When did you meet him?" Rebeka fell for it. "He's sooo fine. I met him a while back, but we didn't get together until a few weeks ago." Caydence struggled to maintain her composure. A few weeks ago Evan had broken up with Caydence and she spent 2 weeks at home in Strangeville getting over from the breakup. That must have been when the scheming wench must have snatched Evan up. That opportunistic bitch. Caydence wanted to scratch Rebeka's eyes out, but she remembered what Elliot had said. Stay cool. "Wow, no wonder I didn't meet this sexy mystery man. I was at home. So what do Emily and Jane think of him?" Caydence knew she couldn't answer that one. "Well, they haven't exactly...they don't know yet. I didn't see the point in telling them. Who knows how long it will last. He's great in bed and that's pretty much the extent of it." Caydence started to choke. They've already SLEPT together?! Caydence had never let Evan get that far. They kissed and made out a lot, but Caydence was still a virgin. Maybe that's why Evan broke it off with her, because she wouldn't put out. "You don't sound very serious about him. Do you know if he's serious?" "Puleese. He's not serious about me. I already know that. Like I said he's great in bed and his ex-girlfriend wasn't giving him any so we kinda...you know. It works for both of us." So that was it. Caydence's prudishness had cost her a relationship. Would it always be that way? Is there anyone out there who would accept her decision to wait? She felt crushed and defeated. Cadence abruptly ended the conversation and returned downstairs to the party. Rebeka shrugged her shoulders and went out in search of Evan. She found him in the kitchen. "Hey there lover. Wanna go play?" she asked seductively. "Beky, I shouldn't even be here. What if Caydence sees me here?" "Oh don't be a scaredy cat. Come on. You know you want me." And he did. So the two crept up the stairs to Jane and Keith's room. Rebeka locked the door behind them and they quickly undressed. Ten minutes later, Rebeka returned to the party. The plan was that Evan would leave the room several minutes later so they wouldn't be seen together. But on his way out, Evan ran into Caydence. She remembered to stay cool. "What are you doing here Evan? You made it crystal clear that you were done with me. So why are you at my party?" Evan didn't know what to say. He couldn't admit that Rebeka had invited him. "Uh...I just wanted to check on you and make sure you were ok. That's all." "Well, as you can see I'm fine." Caydence glanced at Elliot for support and then got an idea. "I'm very fine thank you. As a matter of fact, I don't need you to come look after me anymore. I have someone else to do that." She pulled Elliot to her side and pretended to be in love. She turned to Elliot. "Honey, this is my ex I told you about." Elliot played along. He nodded to Evan. "W'sup dude?" Then he turned back to Caydence. "Come on baby let's dance. This is our song." But Caydence had a better idea. She pulled on him and said "we can do all the dancing we want in my room. Come on lover." Evan had seen and heard enough. He stormed out of the house in a hurry. Elliot and Caydence laughed about their inpromptu act and they spent the remainder of the evening talking and getting to know one another. By the time the party was over and only one or two stragglers were there Caydence knew that Elliot was someone who she wanted to spend a lot more time with. And Elliot felt like he hit the jackpot. The next morning Caydence told her friends all about Elliot. And after Rebeka left for class Caydence told her friends all about Rebeka's deception. They were stunned. "I think we need to kick her out of the house." said Jane. Kelly looked up from her work and said, "You know I never cared for her very much anyway." Emily decided to take a vote and it was then decided that Rebeka had to go.

G3 Chapter 2: Carl Returns

The Genesis family mourned the loss of their friend and housekeeper, Arianna, and added a newcomer to their home. Eve located Lauren through the Dial-a-Maid service. Lauren isn't a live-in maid like Arianna was, but she does a great job. The family is still warming up to her. Things just weren't the same without Arianna. One day when Brian was getting little Fredrick out of his crib in the livingroom, Brian noticed a water puddle on the floor. But he ignored it and continued tending to his son. Later that day when Brian and his wife were catching up on some reading, Brian mentioned to her about the water puddle. Erica had seen water puddles too. They were all over the house. But who could be leaving water everywhere? The pool hasn't even been used since Carl's death. Unable to figure out the mysterious water puddles, Erica and Brian dismissed the issue and continued on with their day. What they didn't know was that there was a perfectly good explaination for the water puddles. It was Carl. He was back. First, he checked on baby Fredrick who was sleeping in his crib upstairs. Then the angry ghost began his haunt, as ghosts do. The ghost of Carl found Erica in the kitchen and decided to give her a fright just like Adam had done. Although Carl scared the heebee geebies out of Erica, she recovered (youth and health on her side) to tell about it. Over breakfast the next morning Erica tells her tale and the mystery of the water puddles was solved.

When Carl's ghost saw the memorial his daughter, Caydence had made to him, he calmed down and stopped haunting the house. Carl was missed and his ghost was satisfied knowing that.

G3 Chapter 1: New life and an unfortunate death

When Erica returned from Strangeville General Hospital after recovering from a hypoglycemic attack, she didn't return alone. She also brought with her a brand new baby boy. She had gone into labor before being discharged from the hospital. Brian was ecstatic to find out that he had become a father. They named the baby Fredrick

Once Erica and baby Fredrick settled in at the Genesis home, life went on as normal.

Daniel and Eve were still very much in love And Brian and Erica played endlessly with little Fredrick. Brian was proud that his son was the first of the third generation of Genesis's. "Peak-a-boo!"

***************************************

Brian's father, Adam had died a few years ago when Brian and Bria were still in college. But they didn't find out about his death until after they graduated because Adam had left town their freshman year without telling anyone where he was going. The twins had been hopeful that they would see their father again, but when they learned that Adam was in fact dead, they grieved. They would never see Adam again...or so they thought.

Adam's ghost had returned to see his heir. He had come for his grandson, Fredrick.

The Ghost of Adam searched the house before finding Fredrick. He was with Daniel, who Adam had never grown to like. Having all three of her lovers living together under one roof wasn't one of Eve's better ideas, but Carl wasn't leaving Caydence and Adam wasn't leaving his twins, Brian and Bria. What choice did Eve have but to let them remain there with her and her new husband Daniel? Adam was furious to see his first and only grandson with his nemesis, Daniel. Someone was going to pay.

Later that evening The Ghost of Adam found Fredrick with his parents. He was angry still, and his anger was directed at any and everyone. First, he frightened Erica half to death. "Oh my God! Brian, it's Adam!! He's come back from the dead!" Brian saw his father too. "No Erica, he hasn't come back from the dead. It's just his ghost. He's angry, but I don't understand why." The closer Daniel and Fredrick grew, the angrier the Ghost of Adam became.

*********************************************

One bright morning, Brian was leaving for work and Arianna, the maid, was returning from the store.

Arianna had been the Genesis family's live-in maid for three or four years and the family had gotten to know her well. Arianna had been battling an illness that often drained her of her energy. And the family was very understanding of her limitations. Arianna had a room of her own on the second floor of the Genesis home, and during her off hours she could be found reading in her room or sleeping when her illness sapped her energy.

But Arianna had excellent work ethics and she would do the best job she could do. Even if it meant working longer or using her days off to finish cleaning the house. After cleaning up the kitchen and the bedrooms on the first floor, Arianna went upstairs to start on the bedrooms, the game room, and the terrace. She found Erica playing with her new baby. (Pew! Little Freddie needs a diaper change!) "Oh he seems to be getting bigger every day Erica. He's soooo adorable. I hope that one day I can find someone as sweet as Brian to marry, and then have a ton of beautiful children, just like Fredrick." Erica assured her that her day would come and that she would realize her dream in time. But Erica was very wrong. Very wrong in deed. Still exceptionally tired, and feeling a little ill, Arianna sighed heavily before starting on the game room. The piano needed dusting, but Arianna didn't realize that she wasn't alone... ...until it was too late. Adam sought his revenge, frightening Arianna senseless. Because Arianna's health was already fragile, the fright was too much for her heart to bare and Arianna passed out helpless on the floor.

Erica heard a loud thump. She layed baby Fredrick down in his crib and left her room to find out what the noise was. She saw Arianna laying there on the floor and she called out for help. Daniel and Eve came running. Eve felt Arianna's pulse and found that the girl didn't have one. She cried and plead with Death to let Arianna live. "Please please, she's too young to go. It isn't her time, you've got to let her live."

Death considered Eve's request. "I'll make a deal with you. I will trade you your soul for her life." Eve knew better than to make such a deal with Death. She couldn't do it. Not even for Arianna. "No, I can't do that. Please spare her life." But Death had already made his final decision. Arianna would go with him. "The girl is mine now. Mwa ha ha ha ha!!" Eve asked to have a moment with Arianna before Death took her. She prayed over the dead girl. And then Death did his job and took Arianna away forever.

Daniel morned for a short while, but Erica and Eve grieved a long time over losing Arianna. They knew Arianna was very ill, but her illness wasn't a fatal one. What could have caused her death? Then Erica remembered that Adam had returned to the house. He frightened Erica. Could he have done the same to Arianna? Eve didn't believe that sweet Adam could of done such a thing, but they didn't know what became of Adam once he left the house. They didn't know that Adam had starved to death in the Appalachian mountains when a ski trip was interrupted by a great avalanche. Adam had been trapped in a dark cave for days before succumbing to frostbite and starvation.

G2 Elien Drops Out

When Bria graduated from college, she left Elien behind to finish his last few semesters. They had planned to get married soon after he graduated. But sometimes the best layed plans are interrupted and new plans have to be made. Elien's mother was very ill and Elien had missed a couple of semesters of school helping his dad take care of her and his baby sister, Jenny. Elien knew his mother might not live very long so Elien spent as much time with her as he could. But when he received a phone call one fateful night, his whole world was turned upside down. It was his mother calling to tell him that his father was dead. Elien Sr. had succumbed to a massive asthma attack and died in the backyard of their home. Elien's mom was distraught, his little sister was torn apart and scared, and they needed Elien. Right away, he told them that he was coming home. The next day, Elien spoke with his professor and explained what happened. His professor tried to convince Elien to take off a semester and then come back, but Elien knew that one semester wans't enough. He dropped out of college altogether and returned to Strangeville to care for his family. Elien was the man of the house now. His mother and sister's well being depended on him and only him. Elien's mom and Jenny were happy to see him, but their joy was tainted by their loss. Jenny required a lot of attention, affection and consoling, and their mother required the same, and more. Jill could do some things for herself, but there wasn't much she could do for little Jenny. Elien was very busy. ****************************************************** Bria lived just around the corner with her family. She came by most nights after work to spend time with Elien and to help him care for his family. Elien's mom liked her, and Jenny was happy to have a big sister around. At least, that's how she saw Bria. After mulling it over, Elien decided that there was no reason why he had to put his life plans on hold. Why couldn't he and Bria be together? They had planned to buy a home and settle down, but was there any reason why they couldn't settle down in his parents home? He didn't see any. He talked it over with his mother first. She thought having Bria move in was a great idea. And she wanted her son to be happy. If he stuck around taking care of everyone else, and having nothing for himself, he might not want to stay. And Jill was counting on her son. She wanted Bria to move in and for the two of them to have a good life together.

While they were still talking, Jill brought up a very uncomfortable subject. "You know I may not be around much longer. And I need to be sure that you will take care of Jenny. I want you to raise her as if she were your own, Elien." Of course he would. Why was his mother even asking? "Mom, haven't I always looked out for my baby sister? I'll take good care of her. I promise." But that wasn't enough. "Elien, promise me, swear to me, that you won't let her be wild or make decisions that will negatively impact her life. I would turn over in my grave to know that my baby girl wasn't doing well." Elien took his mother's hand in his own. "Mom, I swear I'll look out for Jenny. I swear it."

They hugged and then Elien helped his mother back into bed. Later that night, Elien went upstairs to check on his sister, but she wasn't in her bed. He went to his mother's room on the first floor and found the two of them sleeping contentedly. He understood that with Dad being gone, Jenny wouldn't want to sleep in her own room. She wanted to be with her mom...for as long as she could. The doorbell rang and Elien left his mom and sister sleeping. He quietly closed the bedroom door and went to let Bria in. He knew it was her because it was the time that she usually showed up. Elien kissed his fiance and then he told her that they needed to talk. "What about, El? Is everything Ok? Your mom, she's ok isn't she?" Elien shook his head. "No no, everyone's ok, everything's fine. I just need to talk to you about something I want you to consider." Then he explained to her how he didn't want to put their plans on hold and that he wanted to be with her. He told her that he had already spoken to his mother about it and that they had her blessing. "Move in with me, Bria." Bria considered it. They were already engaged and his family liked her and her family liked him. And somehow, she didn't think her mother would object. So her answer was 'yes'. A few weeks later, Bria was all moved in to the Smith home. Elien and Bria were very happy together.

G2 Caydence and Evan: The end

After another day and a half of laying in bed, Caydence's housemates knew that they had to contact her parents. Kelly made the phone call, and Caydence's stepdad, Daniel came to get her right away. Emily and Jane helped Caydence pack a few things since nobody knew how long she would be out of school. After a day or two back at home, Caydence started to feel much better. She started eating and bathing again, and although she was still very broken hearted, she realized that life does go on. And she had to find a way to get over Evan and move on. Caydence spent a lot of time with her mom, Eve, who comforted her with words of wisdom. "Dear, I'm sure this Evan person was very nice, but no man is worth your tears. If he says he doesn't want the relationship, then he's actually doing you a favor. You'd rather know not to waste your time than to be strung along and deceived, right dear?" Caydence knew her mom was right and it helped to make Caydence stronger. "Don't waste your time grieving over him, honey. Chances are, he's not losing a moment of sleep over you. That's just the way it is. I'm sorry you were hurt, but it's all a part of life and living. You will be just fine. And the next time you see this Evan person, you remember everything I've told you. You hear?" Caydence nodded. "Yes mom, I will. Thanks so much for being there for me. I don't know what I'd do without you." Caydence also spent time with her sister-in-law, Erica. Erica was very pregnant with her and Brian's first baby. Despite being diagnosed with gestational diabetes, Erica glowed with health and happiness. Her blissfulness rubbed off on everyone in the house, including Caydence. Erica gave Caydence words of advice, comfort, and hope. She told Caydence that the right man would come along someday and that she only had to be patient. Caydence spent most of her time bonding with her sister-in-law. They talked about the baby, and school and life. They giggled like school girls over just about everything. It was terrific being back home and for a while, Caydence considered not returning to school. But that was nonesence, she knew. She wanted an education. It was her dad's dream that his baby grow up and go to college and make a life for herself. Carl hadn't gone to college, much to his regret. Caydence had to follow through with her dad's final wishes. ************************************************************* Caydence had decided to return to school on a Sunday evening. She'd have time to unpack, but not enough time to start feeling sad about Evan before becoming engrossed in her studies. She was packed and ready to go. Eve had prepared a wonderful dinner in her honor and the whole family was there. But then the evening took a turn for the worse. Erica wasn't supposed to eat certain foods because of her gestational diabetes. But it was a special occasion and she figured it couldn't hurt to have what she wanted just this once. She had consumed large portions of cake and pie that she had helped Eve prepare, and she started feeling bad. She excused herself early and said she was going to bed. A while later, Caydence went upstairs to get some books she wanted to take back to school with her, and when she got to the top of the stairs, there was Erica lying unconscious on the floor. Caydence screamed for help and the family came running. Caydence spent her last evening at home in the emergency room at Strangetown General Hospital. They were there until the wee hours of the morning, before they came back home, leaving Erica there in the care of her doctor who assured the family that Erica would be fine in a day or so. Because of the large sugar intake she had at dinner, Erica had experienced a hypoglycemic attack. But, her blood sugar levels were stabalizing and she was expected to recover. The doctor assured Brian that their baby was unharmed. ********************************************************* When Caydence arrived back at school the next day, her friends greeted her warmly. They had missed her, and they had been very worried about her. Caydence assured them that she was fine and that she was getting over the breakup. The housemates updated her on what she had missed, which was only one toga party. But they all had agreed not to tell her that Evan asked about her every day that he came by to deliver the mail. She'd find out soon enough and they wanted her to have a pleasant and peaceful homecoming. And she did. But, the very next day, Caydence came face to face with her ex. Evan tried a lighthearted approach. "Hey, hows it going? I heard you went home for a while. I'm glad your back." he said. "Oh yeah? Why? Why are you glad that I'm back? It should make no difference to you. Just like whether or not you come here to deliver our mail makes no difference to me. Evan was shocked by her new attitude. He even liked it. Caydence, for once, was no longer the people-pleaser that she had always been. And Evan was attracted to her. He wanted to try again. "You break my heart in a million peices and now you want to try again??!?! Are you insane?!?! I will never go out with you again. NEVER do you hear me?!?!" "I don't even want to see your face. Go away. Just GO!" And so Evan did go away. He realized too late, what he had lost. He thought maybe her fury would disolve in time and that maybe, just maybe, they could be friends one day. He did value Caydence's friendship, but he missed going out with her and really wanted to be more than friends again. But Caydence was seething with anger and he knew it was best if he just went away like she said. Sweet little Caydence had finally grown up. She was stronger and smarter, and she knew to guard her heart better in the future.

...Evan Reveals His Feelings for Caydence (G2)

...Caydence and Evan started dating. They had gone out on 3 wonderful dates and Caydence was delighted to be able to talk with her best friend, Jane, about their romances since both girls were in a relationship.

But just as often, she talked to Kelly...

...and to Emily ...and even to Rebeka who had moved out of the house at the end of last term. She and Caydence remained friends, so like the rest of her friends, she shared her delight. As a matter of fact, Caydence talked to anyone who would listen, about her new love. *******************************************************

One evening following a particularly enjoyable date, Caydence and Evan shared a kiss outside her house. The kiss was sweet and tender.

Caydence knew that she was in love. It had to be love, there was no other description for what she felt for Evan.

Caydence had grown bolder since being away at college so she told Evan just how she felt about him. "Evan, I know we've been seeing each other for only a short time, but...I like you a lot." Evan looked at her and agreed that he felt the same. "I like you too Cady." he replied. Caydence cleared her throat. She wasn't quite getting her point across so she tried again. "I mean...I REALLY like you." Evan chuckled. "I like you too Cady." he said. How else could she say it to make him understand? She needed to be blunt. So blunt she was. "Evan, I'm in love with you." There, plain and simple. She had said it.

What Caydence didn't know was that Evan was a little relationship-phobic. He wasn't looking for anything too heavy. Just someone nice to go out with. And declarations of love constituted 'too heavy'.

"Uhh...Caydence, I don't think we're on the same page here. I do like you. Don't get me wrong. But I think you're in this a whole lot farther than I am. I don't want anything heavy and it seems that you do. I think it's best if we stop seeing each other."

Caydence had no way of knowing this was coming. Evan had been so sweet and kind to her. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She shivered more from a sinking heart than from the chilly night air and Evan suggested that they go inside to talk.

"I don't understand Evan. I thought you cared about me. Why are you doing this? Please don't do this. I love you." she begged. "It doesn't have to be serious. I mean, I respect that you want to take it slow. We can do that. We'll just take things slow then." All the while, Evan shook his head. "No Cady. That's not going to work. Look. We're from two different generations. You're too young to be getting serious or falling in love. Especially with someone my age." Caydence didn't buy into that idea. Age was just a number to her. "Evan, you're only 12 years older than me. That's not a lot. Besides, I'm mature for my age. You said so yourself, remember?" This conversation wasn't going well. They went back and forth for a while. Finally she began to realize that he wasn't going to change his mind. He simply didn't want her.

Caydence wept bitterly and ran to her bedroom upstairs slamming the door so hard until the walls shook. The house became quiet. Rebeka, who had been visiting the house after a toga party down the street went to talk to Evan to find out what was going on. He explained to her what had happened. She couldn't understand why Evan wanted to break up with Caydence. "Ok, soooo....like, is this about money? Because Caydence isn't the money hungry type." Once again Evan explained as best he could, why he wanted to break things off with Caydence. He knew now why his better judgment had warned him away from college kids. Because they were just that...kids.

Exhausted, Evan left without saying goodby to Caydence. He thought it was better that way. ***********************************************

The following morning, the housemates were having breakfast and discussing what had happened the night before. "Has anyone seen her today?" Jane asked. But nobody had seen her. "One of us needs to go check on her." said Kelly. "I'll go." Emily said.

The other housemates remained in the kitchen, still discussing Evan and Caydence, and waited for Emily to return with some news or even with Caydence herself. But when Emily came back, she just shook her head. "No go guys. She won't let me in. The door's locked and the only thing I heard was her telling me to go away. What should we do?" They decided to leave her alone for a while. Let her cool off a bit.

**************************************************

For three days, Caydence didn't surface. She left her room only long enough to use the bathroom. She didn't eat or bathe, and Kelly was getting tired of sleeping on the sofa. It was her room too, afterall.

Kelly used whatever tools she could find to unlock the door and get into the room. It was dark and very cold. She saw that the window was open, letting in a steady stream of fridgid air. She closed the window and then peaked under the covers of Caydence's bed to make sure she was really under there. She was.

For two hours Kelly tried to talk to Caydence and comfort her, but Caydence showed no response. It was as if she wasn't even there. She laid in the bed in a catatonic-like state. Kelly became worried and called the doctor.

When Dr. Epstein arrived, he assessed the situation and decided to use drastic measures. He got her out of bed and forced her to eat a few spoonfuls of soup, then he took her outside where the breakup had taken place. He recreated the moment and had Caydence roleplay the breakup.

At first it seemed to have worked so the good doctor left, giving instructions to call him if she got worse or didn't improve after a day or so.

Over the next week, Caydence didn't go to classes, she still wouldn't eat, and she cryed sporatically throughout the day and night.

It was clear that she wasn't getting any better. So Kelly called Evan and told him about Caydence. Evan came over right away.

When he arrived, Caydence sat motionless outside on the ground. She just stared off into the distance. Evan talked to her for a while even though she showed no signs that she was listening or even that she was aware that he was there. He felt awful. It was all his fault that she was like this. Evan carried Caydence back into the house and to her room. He layed her in her bed and tucked her in. He didn't know what else to do.

G2 Caydence Goes to College

Sweet little Caydence, as her family often called her, had gone through a difficult ordeal recovering from her father's (Carl) death when she was a child. But she did eventually recover. You could say she was scarred, but healed. She no longer felt like the little darling of the family now that she was practically all grown up, so when she went to college, the first thing she did was get a new look.
Yeah, it's not quite her, but she had been inspired by her new friend Kelly who let her borrow her clothes and hair gook. And viola! a whole new look.

Caydence's new best friend, Kelly

The week that Caydence arrived at Sim State U, she met a very nice man named Evan who worked as a postal carrier. Evan was a very down-to-earth type of guy. Layed back, responsible, and just all around a decent guy. He wasn't attracted to Caydence because of her looks, but rather in spite of them. After one date with Evan, Caydence had second thoughts about her appearance and decided to make a change. Caydence was acustomed to being the perfect daughter, perfect sister, and an all around people-pleaser. And it never occured to her that she was changing herself to please Evan. She recreated herself to his liking.

******************************************************** It was September and love was in the air. Caydence's roommates, Jane and Keith had fallen in love at the end of the previous semester, much to everyone's surprise.

Plain Jane is what they used to call her, because she was rather plain in both appearance and personality. No one had suspected that she would fall in love, or that anyone would fall in love with her. But Keith couldn't resist Plain Jane's plain charm. "Soooo....what's up with you and Jane?" Kelly asked. "You guys have been real close lately." Although Kelly had lived in the house longer than everyone except Jane, she was often the last to get the house gossip. She lived mostly in her own world, surfacing occasionally to join in the fun with the others, or just hang out solo with Caydence. Kelly was surprised at the budding romance between her housemates, but at the same time, she was impressed that Jane had done what she herself was sure to never do. Jane had found love and Kelly had mixed emotions about it. She was impressed, but also envious. Kelly knew she could never be in a relationship. She just wasn't cut out for it. She was too much of a loner. Perhaps it was something in her past that made her just a little anti-social.

*************************************************

Kelly and Caydence shared a room in the small house and spent many evenings talking late into the night. But Caydence hadn't told her about the budding relationship between Plain Jane and Keith. Jane and Caydence were also best friends and Jane had asked Caydence not to mention anything to Kelly about her and Keith.

Caydence's two friends were as different from one another as night and day and seldom did they see eye to eye on any subject. So to prevent friction, judgement and uncomfortable comments, Jane wanted her relationship kept secret from Kelly, just for a little while at least. Caydence was pulled back and forth between her two pals like a rope in a battle of tug-of-war. It was often stressfull, but worth it since her friends were like gold to her.

Caydence and housemate and friend, Emily greet one of their Proffessors

Caydence's first year in college was going well. She had a new love interest in Evan and she was sure he was going to ask her to go steady. She had made close friendships with Kelly and Jane, and she was doing well in school. Her professors liked her, and life couldn't have been better. Until...

G2 The Date: Bria and Elien

Time passed quickly and in a few years, Bria had graduated from college with honors, leaving Elien behind to finish his degree. Elien had lost a few semesters when his mother's condition worsened and his father needed him home to help him tend to her, and to help care for his little sister. With Bria gone, things just wouldn't be the same. Elien had moved into the frat house after Bria had finally convinced him to pledge, so he was surrounded by friends, but nobody could fill the void that Bria's absence left. Bria had finally told her family about Elien. Her mom was happy that Bria had found love, but she cautioned her daughter that their differences in culture might make things difficult for them at one time or another, and that they should be aware of that.

Bria and Elien were both aware of that and they were fine with it. So the love birds enjoyed their time together. Sim State U wasn't very far away from Strangetown so Bria made weekly visits there to see Elien. They dated and had tons of fun every weekend. Both of them looked forward to seeing each other and greeted one another warmly each time. They went bowling, skating, horseback riding, and hiking. They even attended church service together.

One weekend, Elien invited Bria out to dinner at a nice restaraunt. Usually they ate at TGI Friday's or Applebees. But Elien had made reservations at Margiano's much to Bria's delight.

Their waitress told them the soup of the day and and suggested a few wines.

They ordered linguine alfredo and eggplant parmesean and talked about their week. Bria had gotten a new hairstyle and Elien loved it. "You look great Bri." he said. After they finished their meal, Elien wanted to talk seriously. "Bri, I still have a little time left at school, but it's not too soon to make plans for the future. Even though we talked about my moving to New York after graduation, I don't think I can do that." Bria was glad to hear it. She wanted Elien to stay in Strangetown with her. "You're not staying for me are you? I mean, I don't want to stop you from following your dream." Elien shook his head. "No no, nothing like that. It's my mom. She's not well and she's not getting better like we had hoped. I have to stick around for the family. Dad's kinda messed up right now. He's so worried about mom. And my little sister needs someone to help her." Then Elien shakes his head again. "Ok, I'm getting off track here. This isn't where I'm trying to take this conversation." He cleared his throat while Bria waited a little confused about what Elien wants to tell her.

"Bri. You know I love you." Bria nodded her head. "I know Elien. I've never doubted it. I love you too." His palms started to get damp and he rubbed them on his pant legs. "I can't imagine my life without you in it. I would have changed my mind about New York even if mom weren't sick because I want to be with you." Bria didn't understand why Elien was stating the obvious. "I want to be with you too Elien." she said. "Bri, I want to be with you forever. I want to marry you Bri." Bria was surprised. She hadn't thought too far past college, and even though she wanted to be with Elien, she didn't think too seriously about their future together. Elien waited for her response. But for several moments she was quiet. "Bri did you hear me? I want to marry you. Will you marry me after I graduate?"

This was a huge decision that Bri wasn't prepared to make. "I think I need some water." was all she could say. After their waitress brought the water and she had taken a few sips, she knew that no matter how scary it seemed at the moment, deep down, she knew that there was nothing that she wanted more than to marry Elien. "You took my by surprise. I had no idea you were even thinking about marriage. I love you Elien. Yes I'll marry you!"

They were excited about their engagement. They chatted animatedly as they left the restaraunt and passed a strip of shops. Elien turned to Bria. "Hey, I didn't get you a ring. I wanted to get you something really nice because you deserve it, but I can't afford it now." That didn't matter to Bria. "That's ok El. I understand. I want to be with you with or without a ring." He was relieved, but he still wanted to buy her something so he suggested shopping. "Well, since I can't afford jewelry, how about something else?" Bri knew she needed work clothes badly. Her first few weeks at her new job were almost embarassing because she didn't quite have the attire. "I could use something to wear to work." she said before Elien pulled her into a boutique, "Let's go in here."

Elien bought Bria a nice outfit to wear to work. Then they hit the bars.

At the bar, there was a photo booth. "Elien, look a photo booth. Come on, let's take some pictures." They did a little more than taking a few pictures and when they emerged from the booth.... ...there was a crowd of onlookers gathered around. Bria couldn't have been more embarrased, but this was her fiance now, so she figured she was entitled to have a little fun with him.

But, Old Mrs. Crabtree didn't see it that way. She knew Elien's parents and she threatened to tell them about his unorthodox behavior. Elien did convince Old Mrs. Crabtree not to tell his folks, but she didn't leave without telling the manager of the bar, and the couple was asked to leave. Not quite the perfect ending to a perfect date, but it didnt' matter because they were as happy as they could be. They left the bar in a fit of laughter.

They sat down on a park bench and collected themselves before heading back to the frat house.

G2 Twins at the frat house

Elien did in fact want Bria back. When she called to tell him that she was back from her visit home, he rushed right over. "Bria, I missed you so much. I realize how big of a mistake I've made letting you go. I'm sorry. I want to make it up to you if I can. Would you take me back?" Without a word, Bria threw her arms around Elien and they kissed. In the following weeks, things appeared to be back to normal. Bria and Elien were once again inseperable. ********************************************* A couple of Bria's friends wanted to join a fraternity, but they didn't like any of the frats on campus. Bria suggested that they start up a new fraternity. Her friends loved the idea and insisted that Bria be the one to initiate it. So Bria called the college and proceeded through the paperwork to charter a new organization.

Before long, Bria and her friends had a new fraternity and a new frat house to live in. They were ecstatic. Bria pulled in her brother although Brian wasn't quite as enthusiastic about it. But since they were twins, he followed along.

Even though Elien wasn't a member of the fraternity, he practically lived there.

G2 Twins at Sims State University

Eve was elated to see her twins go off to college. But now the house was empty and Adam and Daniel weren't getting along. Adam had no reason to stay now that his kids flew the roost and Daniel didn't want him there. But what would Adam do? Where would he go? Carl still refused to leave Caydence and nobody challenged him. He was a great father and it would have been cruel to separate father and daughter. ****************************************** The twins settled into their new rooms and made a few asthetic touches to make it homey. Although Bria was anxious to see her close friend Elien, she had to put off her meeting with him.

Adam, the twin's father had decided to move out of the house since his kids were in school. There was no reason for him to stay. So the twins spent time with their dad.

When Adam left, Bria called Elien to tell him that she was there. He came over right away. The two friends talked and laughed and danced together. They had a great time. And before he left, he told her how he felt.

"Bri, I've liked you for a long time. Ever since kindergarten. I think I'm in love with you." Bria was so happy to hear this since she too had strong feelings for Elien. "Elien, I feel the same way." And then they shared their very first kiss. It was magical.

*******************************************

Time passed and Bria and Elien became closer still. They were always together, studying, partying, and just hanging out with friends. Elien wanted Bria to tell her family about them, but she wasn't ready for that yet. Bria didn't even let her twin Brian know the depth of her relationship with Elien. But Elien wasn't happy with this. He had already told his family about Bria and although they were concerned that the relationship might be too much of a distraction, they were still approving of it. Elien's mother, who was of poor health, warned her son to be careful with this new love. She didn't want her son to lose sight of his goal.

If Elien could tell his folks, he figured that Bria should be able to do the same. "Bri, why can't you talk to them? Are you ashamed of me? Is it our different cultures that's making you ashamed of me? For goodness sakes, you won't even tell your twin, and you two share everything. If you're so ashamed of me, then maybe we shouldn't be together." Elien left Bria hurt and confused. She didn't know if they were still together or not. She only knew that she had screwed up royally.

Regret settled in. Why hadn't she just done what Elien had asked? Why did she have to go and mess things up when they were doing so well? She wasn't ashamed of Elien...at least she didn't think she was. But the more she thought about it, the more she realized that perhaps Elien was right. She was just a little bit concerned that her folks wouldn't accept her relationship with someone of Elien's culture. And it was this concern that made her reluctant. But now it was probably too late.

*******************************************

Three days had passed and Bria had not heard from Elien. She was afraid to call or stop by his house so she waited. But by the fifth day, Bria was sure that Elien no longer was interested.

Alvin, the school mascot, had been attracted to Bria since he first layed eyes on her. He was completely smitten, and he let her know. "If you and that guy ever break up, I'm going to come a knockin" he had teased. But Bria never took him very seriously. Until Alvin found out that the inseperable couple had in fact broken up. Alvin cornered her in the game room on the top floor of their dorm.

"Bria, you know how I feel about you. Now that you and that guy aren't together anymore, do you think you might give me a chance?" Bria wasn't ready for this. She didn't know what to say. She hadn't known that Alvin really wanted to go out with her. She thought he had been only joking around. Now she was faced with making a decision. Alvin was nice and good looking underneath the mascot costume, and he was smart and just an all around nice guy. Bria was alone and lonely, hurt and shaken by her breakup with Elien. Even if she had declined Alvin's offer, he needn't worry. It was only a matter of time before she would let him take her out. Bria and Alvin began seeing each other. It wasn't often, and they only went to the movies, bowling and studied together, but it was enough that her doormates knew, or rather assumed, that Bria had a new man. They didn't know how she was pining away for Elien. They never heard her crying late at night when the dorm became quiet. No one realized that Bria had lost 15 pounds that semester because she hadn't been eating, couldn't eat. No one knew how her heart was broken. Not even her twin Brian.

***************************************** Then, tragedy struck the Genesis household. Carl, Caydence's father, drowned one evening while cleaning out the pool. He had slipped and bumped his head before falling unconscious into the water. It was the neighbors who found him lying lifeless at the bottom of the pool.

The family was devastated. Caydence was unconsolable. Brian and Bria went home to attend the funeral. They stayed home from school for a week before returning. By the time they left, Caydence was better. They helped her set up a small shrine to her daddy in her bedroom. When Bria returned to school, Emily came rushing to greet her. "Bria, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Are you ok? We gotta talk." Emily pulled Bria aside in the kitchen and told her that Elien had been asking about her. He had come to the dorm several times looking for her. "He seemed anxious to talk to you." she said.

They didn't realize that Alvin was listening to their conversation nearby. "What did he want?" Bria asked with hope in her voice. "He didn't say, but he kept coming by every day. I told him I didn't know when you were coming back, and that I'd have you call him as soon as you got here, but he kept coming anyway." Bria didn't want to get her hopes up, but could it be that Elien wanted her back? Before Bri could say another word, Emily told her what she wanted to know. "I think he wants you back." Bria was delighted. "Oh Em, do you really think so?" Emily nodded her head. "I'm pretty sure. You should have seen him Bri. Whatever it is that he wanted to say must be really important. You should go call him now." Bria thanked Emily and hugged her before rushing off to her room.

Eve's Children

One beautiful day, Eve went into labor. To her and Adam's surprise, they had twins, a boy and a girl. The boy was named Brian and the girl, Bria. Eve and Adam had to work through their differences for the sake of the children.

Alas, Eve and Adam were still not getting along and since she wanted to find love, she turned to Carl, a bartender that she met downtown. Carl and Eve hit it off and right away, their affection turned physical. When Eve discovered that she was pregnant with Carl's baby, Carl insisted on moving in despite the fact that Adam lived there. The two men steered clear of one another. One evening, Eve went into labor and baby Caydence was born.

Still, the situation was so awkward that Eve and Carl never pursued their relationship further.

Bria talks to Nanny Sophia, Carl puts Caydence to bed in her crib

Adam and Eve and Carl and the children lived peacefully once everyone adjusted to the unusual situation. Neither men would leave their children.

Still searching for the lasting love of her life, Eve met Daniel at the office. He was the President of the company, single, and attractive. Daniel and Eve hit it off immediately. It was love at first sight. He helped her work her way up the corporate later and eventually Eve became the President of her own company. But we're jumping ahead a bit. Eve and Daniel fell madly in love and got married. But to their dismay, Eve was already showing signs of menopause and the couple never had a child together.
